do med schools average the two scores or only look at the latest score?
 
from what i've heard...some schools look at the latest score. some take the higher of the two. some will take the highest score from each section. it all depends on the school
 
most take the highest overall score, but of course, they do notice your previous score, since it's right there for them to look at. so it might not count "officially", it might register something at the subconscious level... some prejudices perhaps.
