If we're all going to consolidate in-school then why not...

...consolidate our private loans too right?

I haven't seen many companies that will consolidate federal and private loans. I really wanted to keep all my business at T.H.E. cause they're pretty good about returning e-mails and phone stuff but they don't do private loans. I have a fairly large amount of private loans from my undergrad years that I'd like to get into one place. I am just starting my MSIII year so I have considerable federal loans too.

Is there anyone out there in this race to consolidate while still in school and taking advantage of the rates before the "big hike (read: hype)" and found a company that will consolidate everything?

Has anyone figured out why the companies are pushing this on the students so furiously- it seems like there's a hidden agenda for them because low rates doesn't equal more $$$ for them right? Anyone found the catch?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if they're legit but FedEd loans will consolidate federal and private loans.

Figured out why they're pushing consolidation? It's because even though they offer you a lower interest rate, it's a longer term loan (usually 20 or 30 years). So, you're actually paying back more money over time.
