When I was a resident we used rectal Brevital. Unfortunately rectal propofol never panned out. When I saw the title I was thinking of 8 percent sevo by mask making a vein pop up.

It was in a medical textbook from 1923. I didn’t realize I had it. We either got it from a books by the yard type place or from an estate sale. I had another anesthesiologist over and he saw it on the shelf.

I remember using rectal chloral hydrate for short eye procedures on little children, not sure if it's still used?

never heard of this before. what era was this?
