I read some of the feedback interview questions from NOVA.

If you could be a piece of furniture, what would you be?

What's the Psychology behind this question?

I would be a glass table with iron/wood base. Or a wood coffe table. Silly huh? 😳

What does this mean guys? That I'm easy to brake?! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because I'm a psych major (and having seen this question before) I have previously asked one of the Psy.D professors about this. His response was it is usually more of a way to judge someone's ability to think abstractly than anything psychological. It would also matter what school of psychological theory someone subscribes to as to the significance attached by the person. So I think the question is just there for conversation purposes as close as I can figure.

I would be a television set so that everyone would pay attention to me.

This stuff confuses me!

I applied to Louisville and the interview feedback said something like...

"Sit on the couch or rocking chair... we can tell alot about you from what you choose."

What the heck! Please tell me what this must mean. because its over my head! 🙄

i laid off my TV when i was a senior in HS.. sorry...

i would be a mirror... to show others what they really are.

OP: yes, this this is a phsycological question, kind of to put you on the spot.. but the good thing with these questions is that you can pick almost any item and explain it the way you want. and it is your reasoning that they are more interested in.

i'm not sure this is a psychological question...i think it's more a question to test your creativity...

could it be a combination of both??? long time no spades!! how are things going with you?? shopping for a tie yet??

Comet joon,

Maybe it is a combination of both. These adcom people are getting bored and want to add some spice to the interviews. Better be prepared with a very high confidence.

As a woman, I'll make sure that I have some really nice shoes on that day! 😉

A couch because I like it when multiple people sit on me at the same time

Know lots of residency directors who ask this or similar question. Meant to see how you think on your feet and your creative ability. A lot of dentistry is creative, must be able to think out of the box. My 2cents.

If an adcom asked me this I would say a lamp so that my light would shine brightly through the world...lol and then I might throw up a little in my mouth

I would be a pink bed because girls loves to lay on me.

This thread may get closed soon. I'd be a desk so that everybody could study in a comfy setting.

I would be a wall-mounted mirror. I love to hang and I reflect those around me
