Did you guys do anything to celebrate?

After getting into Touro CA, I was scoping out wineries, er, pharmacies for IPPEs in Napa/Sonoma and tasting wines, er meeting people and asking about the area.

The next day, after finding out I got into UCSF, I got a whole bunch of wines from those same wineries since I didn't have to put down the $2k deposit, including a $95 bottle of wine to celebrate with my closest friends.

To my fellow UCSF Class of '13, don't worry--I got wines for you too. 😀

I haven't really been able to celebrate yet, with exams and papers taking up most of my energy, but come tomorrow I have two very expensive bottles of wine my friends and I are gonna down. Then I'm going to a Japanese Steak House!

I've been engaging in anticipatory celebratory acts daily for the past month...or maybe I'm depressed.

I'm more stressed now than I was before I got in. The problem is I own a house in one of those areas that got hammered by the economy and I have to move. I was happy for one day before reality hit and I didn't get out to celebrate on that happy day because I was preparing for an exam. What a waste of a life changing event.

What's all this talk about wine?! Someone please break out a bottle of SoCo to celebrate!

You definitely need to rock out - I went out - downtown Gainesville - and got a little crazy. Nothing too big though - you have pharmacy school for that.

~above~

Hahaha, you lived in Gainesville too? Hollah! That's where I'm headed tomorrow night!

Thanks! Congrats for getting accepted into UF! I applied to their Orlando campus as well, but by the looks of it I doubt they will give me a second look. Stupid Physics! Whatever, Time to celebrate!!! Go Gators!

Oh Snap! That's what I'm talking about!!

Bar with close friends, dinner with family, and..... that just the first couple days after finding out! Also I guess April 4th will also be a celebration

You could always quit your job and travel! People keep asking me why I don't quit volunteering here [at UCSF] now that I'm already in

I'm drinking a beer right now in celebration of my acceptance 4 months ago! 🙂 Whenever I feel burnt out from class or just down in general I re-read my acceptance letter and it makes everything all better.

Haha, That's what I'm going to do when work starts to annoy me.

Nice one. I guess acceptance letter is the new weed.

Here here.

Me and my buddy Jack Daniels celebrated a good long while. A couple of his Russian friends will join here soon.

I treated my self to an expensive steak dinner, followed by a trip to the liquor store where I bought a bottle of Knob Creek, a bottle of Crown and a bottle of SoCo Black Label....needless to say, I celebrated for the rest of the semester.

I am thinking of treating myself to a nice massage. I've always wanted to get one and I have never had one.😉

After getting the acceptance letter, I slacked off the entire Winter quarter..LOL. I played online poker and talked to friends while studying for finals

Also went to an Indian restaurant to buy myself a nice meal 😀

For my Oregon acceptance I went to Bistro 9 in the Sunset. Here's my UCSF acceptance dinner with family, I figured pictures are always better than words. The dinner was quite amazing. We went to Nopa, locals will probably know this awesome place:

Wow, Nopa looks amazing! I've always wanted to check that out myself. You should post the pics from Bistro 9 too.

Just think, when we're done with UCSF, we can do French Laundry. 😀

Oh, congratulations on getting into UCSF also. I know it was a long haul for both of us--and looking forward to being your classmate in the fall. 🙂

The week after I got accepted I dropped all my classes. I called the pharmacy school and they said it was ok since I had already completed all the prereqs. Now I'm working about 70 hr/wk to save up money for the big move. I still haven't celebrated though!

If I wasn't 1 class away from getting my bachelors I'd do the same exact thing:laugh:

When I got the call that I was accepted, I was actually in a casino in Las Vegas (I was there for another interview the following day) standing in line at the buffet with my Dad and Grandmother. It must have sounded a bit odd to the lady on the other end of the phone (ding, ding, ding, ding, ding! Hey, I'm from NV, so it probably wasn't totally unexpected), lol. Needless to say, as soon as we were done eating, we headed straight to the slots and tables for a night of fun (not with my money, though!) to celebrate me hitting "the big jackpot." 😀
