I would like to update medical schools about a noteworthy error I made in my primary application. What would be the most appropriate way to notify medical schools of this error? Mail, e-mail?

*I know that some med schools allow me to add updates within their secondaries, but the majority I am applying to don't.

Will the mistake make or break your application, or do you just need to set the record straight? What to do depends on the answer.

1) In one activity, my dates are way off (wrongfully copy/pasted them).
2) In another instance, on a secondary application, I added the wrong grade for a pre-requisite.
1) Is the timespan about the same? Are the total hours correct?

2) Is the grade as you reported it higher or lower than reality? Is the correct grade on the verified transcript?

1) No, the timespan of the activity is about the same, the dates are off by 2 years
2) The grade reported is higher but the correct grade is posted on AMCAS.

I agree with you that these are not critical errors. I suggest:
a) For those Secondaries where a correction can be made, do so.
b) For those schools that invite frequent updates for any reason, email them brief corrections.
c) For all others, wait until the fall update letter and include the information briefly there, along with new grades, added hours to relevant activities, and anything new that might add to your candidacy.
