If you're unmatched in the SF Match, WHEN and HOW do you find out?

You get an automatically generated email the night before the results are announced telling you if you matched or not. You have to wait until the next morning for the program director or your Dean's office to call you to find out exactly where. Hope this helps and good luck.

1. Would the email come from the SFMatch, the program, or my dean's office?
2. Approximately what time in the evening would I receive the automatically generated email telling me if I matched or not?

You won't hear anything if you actually matched til your program director or deans office tells you on match day

This is not necessarily true. One of my friends who matched last year received an email from SF Match the night before telling him that he had matched, but he didn't find out where he matched until the program director emailed him the next morning. Maybe it was a new thing last year, I don't know, or maybe not everyone received that "you matched" SF Match email for whatever reason. Don't know what we should expect from SF Match this year.🙄

Thank you DKofLV and clayito for your replies.

Do you know around what time we will receive this email the night before?

Could be new as of last year or an issue with my match year as the fax for deans offices apparently didn't go out my year due to an issue at the SF Match. I guess the summary of the story, the only predictable consistency with the SF Match program is that it's fully unpredictable

If I remember correctly, my friend received his around 5-6pm PST (8-9pm EST) last year, but as pointed out above by DKofLV, SF Match is predictably unpredictable 🙂
