Today our school had us write the IFOM exam (International Foundations of Medicine) which is under the umbrella of the NBME and the exam really looks very similar to those NBME self assessment exams that you write for Step1. I wrote one of the NBME exams and they are really very much related.
Did any of you write it? It's two blocks of 80 questions each. we have two hours per block which is pretty generous.
From doing UWorld questions this IFOM seems a bit easier. Less pathology, less drug side effects, almost no biochemistry.. but quite a bit of epi.
They said at our school that this is a very accurate gauge of our Step1 performance.. so since i'm writing my step1 in November I guess it can't hurt to see what the results will be (they will give us details results)
