would that be Henoch-Schlonlein Purpura or IgA Glomerulopathy/Berger's Dz? Both also follow an upper resp infection. How would the step ask a question relating to this w/o being ambiguous?

Well, for HSP they would usually give you skin symptoms (palpable purpura).

It also depends on what they are asking, if it's talking about just the renal symptoms then IgA deposition into mesangial cells along with hematuria is the very definition of IgA nephropathy. HSP can be associated with IgA nephropathy (as it most commonly leads to it) but they don't necessarily have to occur together.
