Hm...by SMP I meant that it's a 1 year masters course with medical science classes. I guess I failed to consider, perhaps the most important part of an SMP!
In the context of trying to get into medical school, the "S" in SMP means "special" and that means you're taking medical school coursework at a medical school with medical students for the sole purpose of auditioning for medical school.
A one year masters that includes science classes can be done at almost any college in the country. No S.

the point is whether the program is going to help you get into med school or not. whatever this program is that you're considering, just ask them. ask to be put in touch with alumni who just finished their M1 year, or who just got an acceptance. ask those successful alumni if they had stats comparable to yours. if the program can't/won't facilitate that kind of info exchange, then that program has no basis to say it can help you.
contrast with the cincinnati SMP web page showing exactly where everybody ends up.
