I'll donate to SDN if I get into a school, you too?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

Well i'm getting pretty anxious waiting for my first acceptance. Since SDN has helped me so much over the last few months i'll donate some cash to SDN if I get in. Who else is with me? Anybody?

I'm just going to click on their ads.

I will donate only because I heard it is the only way to change your username. I want mine to be "Rihanna Goes to Med School" if possible.

I'm In.

Agreed, SDN has helped me so much, the least I can do is Gold membership. Everything else doesn't seem like enough, and the lifetime is just way too much for me.

I didn't know you could change your username like that. Well, that's an additional perk - I was going to donate the moment I got my first MD/PhD acceptance anyways.

I promised myself I would go up to lifetime member after getting accepted to a really cool graduate program (not medical school yet I suppose, but SDN definitely helped)...then I realized that I literally have less than $200 in my bank account. :scared: I guess I'll have to wait until next semester.

If you're going to donate, might as well go Gold. It's got good perks and lasts two years (plus doesn't cost much more).

I'm accepted and I have always said I'd become a lifetime donor when that happened, but dang it if I have ZERO cash right now! Once I get a job, though, or maybe once med school loan money comes in (or my Peace Corps Readjustment Allowance haha) I'll definitely donate. I've learned so much from SDN over the years and I KNOW I was more prepared for the process than I would have been otherwise!

Haha, that's exactly what happened to me as well. I'm gunna bump my membership up once the gold expires.

If I get in to my top choice, I most certainly will. I would not have even known about the school if it weren't for SDN. I wish I remembered the thread/OP, because I would owe them too.

I totally will too! SDN has been invaluable for me, especially considering the fact that my pre-med advisor is worthless!

I'm planning to donate once I start my applications. = Silver
If I get in MD school. = Gold
If I get in top 25. = Lifetime

Mark my words, I will donate $1000 if I go to medical school next year. Please.

Wow you guys are out of hand. Just because you receive an acceptance doesn't mean you are an automatic doctor. You could fail out, die from stress, accidentally kill someone on residency or fellowship years etc. 😀

just got my first acceptance, so I sent SDN it's christmas present!

<--- MD/PhD acceptance. My entire application was based on advice from SDN. College advisers sucked and I had no other guidance. So I am forever indebted and will be sticking around to "pay it forward".
