The Big River has let me down, I can not find any of the books I need for any significant compared to my school's bookstore. Less eating out for me this term I guess.

I ordered all but one textbood from half.com. I found that their prices and Amazon's were pretty much the same. Double check though, because my bookstore's used book prices were about the same as the online prices (of course, they didn't actually have any used books on hand though).
I got one of my pharmacy books here for about $11. The regular price is around $50.
I usually go with half.com. There are price comparision websites out there (bigwords.com being one of them) that search a bunch of sites and gives you the best prices. Good way to save time!
We're supposed to spend $1200 on our textbooks this year. I have no problem buying each and every one of them, because mommy and daddy are paying for them in full.

campusi.com is pretty good too. it give you prices from a bunch of dealers even the ebay listings.
another FREE way of doing it is find out if your university participates in a library service called EZ borrow. its a bunch of schools sharing their library. and you can borrow the book for 2 months and can renew it twice. more than a semester long.

Because I said it means I'm proud of it? Perhaps my smilies (laughter and great big grin) were confusing; trust me, I'm not laughing at you or anybody else -- I'm laughing at myself for being spoiled, and I am by no means "proud" of anyone paying for my education expenses. I apologize if I gave a different impression.
I've also had good luck with alibris.com and bookbyte.com. I have bought books for 3 semesters of pharmacy school now, and have only bought one text from my school's bookstore (I was actually able to get a good used copy from them, which doesn't usually seem to be the case, hence using the Internet).
abebooks.com and amazon are my favorites. Alot of people in my class swore by abebooks but amazon is the place for me though.
But just like the other poster suggested, ask people from the class ahead of yours. I bought all my books in my P1 but I found out that alot of my classmates have most of the books stored on their jumpdrive and just print chapters as needed. so this time , I am buying just one book. I got some from a friend in P3 and doing what most people in my class are doing, saving some in my jumpdrive.

I didn't buy a single book. The library has a few copies of each book. What can I say. I'm a poor college student and the P2s keep telling me not to buy books.
If your starting out I would recommend picking up
Lippincotts Pharmacology it simplifies things and is a hell of lot better read the Dipiro
the only problem is the last edition was in 2005 (no updates since then) and there are some mistakes but nothing too major

I agree! It's a great book for getting the big picture!
