I have been looking for a job most of the year. It looked like I was going to get a job with CVS and then things fell through. Now its Christmas and I need to get this straight.
Some things I have considered are working with my Dad in Illinois, but I don't have an Illinois license yet.
I have considered volunteering the hours, but I don't know if they would count. I will do whatever I have to if it will work, but nothing is working right now.
Any other ideas would be appreciated. Before people start in on how I should already have had these hours a long time ago, I know. Thanks

Take it easy, dont stress out, enjoy your last remaining time before working the rest of your life, and then get a job in a state that doesnt require intern hours.

I'm not stressing, but I want to end my poverty as soon as possible and that is best done by finishing my hours. If it doesn't happen so be it. I think its either 500 before or 1000 after. Which means an extra 13 or 26 weeks depending on whether or not the hours from before graduation count. I'm just trying to get in this door before it closes.

Try other chains? Also, you may want to suggest to stores that you're willing to work at a tech's salary, if you're up for that. Some interns at my store are doing that since the chain doesn't want to pay any more people intern pay at my store. The hours will still count for your intern hours.

We call an intern a pre reg in the UK. it is a year after graduation to gain practical experience. The govnmt gives a grant to the employer/tutor of approx $20k to help fund. Naturally, some employers only pay this amount so that the pre reg costs them nothing. Pre Reg positions in hospital and industry pay a lot more but very difficult to find. Try offering to work at your local hospital.

that's $20k USD? geesh, and i thought getting $40k USD for residency was bad.

Knock on wood.

Why the efff did you put your hours off till P4? 😕

But think about it, $20k/40/52=$9.62 per hour. Not bad for if the spot is guaranteed and you don't have giant student loans (I gather that education in the UK is at least partially socialized).

For example http://www1.aston.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/school/lhs/pharmacy/ this school charges about 6.5k a year tuition for pharmacy school for all UK/EU students. This is much less than private/out of state schools here and less than almost every in-state program as well.

yeah good point, apples and oranges, there's a whole different economic world over there that i'm avoiding in this discussion.
