Dealing with a dilema today and would like some opinions.

So i decided to cancel my May 21st MCAT date a week ago b/c i didnt feel ready and would like to rock it the first time i take it.

Today i go to register for the MCAT and July 16th is the earliest available😡 ! That means i would have to wait till August 17th to submit applications!!🙁

Is that too late to apply to med school? Do i still have a chance?

I have an avg. GPA (3.7) and Im going to apply both D.O. & M.D., so considering that i get a satisfactory and competitive score should is still apply?

Is that too late a date to apply to med school? Do i still have a chance?

I just want to know realistically if i should apply or just take my time and study some more for the mcat and take it later in the year and just apply for next cycle!

Thanks!!!!

No you are not too late for having MCAT score back in Aug.
To SDNers super high standards you are late but for the rest of the premeds out there YOU ARE OK!!!!! 😀

Make sure to get your application in before, if you are averaging around a 30 on the practice test. If not the take the MCAT, get the score then submit the application. I know plenty of people that got interviews when they submitted their application in Nov. Just make sure you crank those secondaries out fast to have a better chance!!

3.7 with a >28 MCAT score will net you some interviews for MD. and alot of interviews for DO.

Locus is right. Granted, it won't help your chances but a 3.7 is a great GPA and w/ a 30+ MCAT, good ECs & clinical XP, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting interviews (and hopefully acceptances). The fact that you are applying DO as well as MD should only help you.

Thanks for the confidence Dudes!! I really appreciate it and will definately apply.

Quick Question: I can submit my application without the MCAT scores in? How does that work? Cuz if i can ill submit it ASAP.
