Do not prepare for your in-service exam.

dude...dont prepare. 😕but if you insist on it, go to the IM board thread and use whatever they use to study for boards....it's a test that's supposed to mimic the IM board exam so, reason that out.

The entire idea of the ITE is to not study. Your program shouldn't use it for anything.

Now if HAD to study because you thought you were going to get fired and they would use this against you... BB3 is a pretty good option. It is what most people use just before the real thing.

I also liked first aid for IM boards but it is much, much longer.

we are helping you. Dont study for it, it defeats the purpose of the test.

And I had a friend who scored very very poorly, < 10th percentile as an intern. He was not fired. He had to trade in 2 electives for extra ward months and start reading alot more. But did fine as a pgy2.

relax. have a drink.

From the ACP website:

Should Residents Study for the IM-ITE?
The goal of the IM-ITEis to gauge progress in training, not to achieve a certain level of performance. Examinees, therefore, are advised not to study for the examination. Studying may result in an inaccurate self-assessment of the training experience and an inability to plan appropriately for correcting deficiencies.

So no, don't study

Would program directors be ok if an intern gets less than 10% right on an inservice exam? :scared:

With that out of the way...define "OK".

High fives and hand jobs at morning report? No.

Kicking the intern out when the score comes back? Also no.
