I take Step 1 on June 25th, but I feel very underprepared. I have gone over first aid with DIT once. Read (not actually answered) the USMLE world qbank questions and explanations; but when I do take a 46 question test on the qbank, I score about 50%. I plan on taking an NMBE practice test tomorrow.

I am not lazy, I just didnt have time to study enough, for personal reasons.

Should I bite the bullet and just take Step 1 on the 25th? Or should I postpone it?

Again, I feel very underprepared. Please share your opinion.

Thanks

Postpone! This test will play a big role in determining the rest of your life. A fail will royally screw things up for you. Don't take it unless you feel reasonably prepared.

Depends on what score you are shooting for. let's see what the nbme says.

I've postponed STEP 1 since I am barely passing the NBME practice tests. Thank you for your responses

did you do a whole practice NBME test and finish it and get your score? I ask because a lot of times it's hard to know how prepared or underprepared you are, and you just might surprise yourself.

But, I totally understand. I also had to reschedule, and will therefore unfortunately miss my first rotation :luck:

I've had to do the same with my first rotation. Good luck
