Hi friends,
I am starting this thread as I am in a dilemma 😕 and didn't know where to post this.
I received a letter from NYU that put me on a waiting list 🙁 .First of all what are the chances of me getting a seat there? has anyone previously on a waitlist at NYU been ceared? They haven't given us a waitlist number so, how do they select someone from the list?
I spoke to Amy Knowles at NYU.She said she couldn't give me much info about the waitlist clearance and stuff.....Now, I am planning to go to meet my parents at New Zealand for about 1 1/2 -2 months 🙂 and the problem is that I am not sure as to whether it is fine if I go at this point 🙁 .
I would be thankful to anyone who can give me any advice about how soon can we expect to hear from a school once we are on a wait list. If given an admission , are we given sometime to come back and join. How about the loans and also what about the Visa (F1) :scared: .I understand we can get an F1 faster provided we go out of the country for a while. We also need to submit a medical report...if needed, can I furnish one from another country???....
...........................or should I just forget about it all and plan on taking up part-2 also and apply to other schools for next year?.......It's all so uncertain that it's frustrating 🙁 !

Thanks in advance for your replies...
Good luck to all taking up exams soon... 👍 ...put in your best!

Amy Knowles hello, element we just need to wait no many changes really maybe next year check my tread

Thanks Pendejodo...I forgot asking about another thing....are waitlisted candidates required to re-apply(for next year) to the school incase they are not cleared for a particular year or are they directly given admission witout a repeat interview?...
all responses are greatly appreciated.

hi elementz,
generally they mention in the letter which says u r waitlisted tht if u dont get in this year u will have to reactivate ur application for the next year. thts wht was mentioned in my letter frm bu.
i am not sure abt this but i think u will have to be either in the us or in the country of ur origin to get astudents visa.
nyu has abt 125 seats. so thr chances of getting admission even at the last min. so keep ur fingers crossed. keep preparing for part2 also so tht if u dont get in this year u have more choices next yr.
but hopefully u will get in this year. all the best. 🙂 :luck: :luck:

Thanks Ann....I appreciate your advice. They haven't mentioned anything about reapplying/reactivation in the letter.I too am thinking about keeping all options open...hope things look up soon...
thanks again.
Best wishes for your admission to BU.Take care.

Elementz keep your fingers crossed and have faith in God..Everything will be OK
Take care

Hey Pinktooth,
Thanks a lot!....how are things moving with your waitlist at BU?...Wish you the very best!

I got 81% in part 1 and applied for nyu . I didn't hear from them anything. If anyone is in the same position , please let me know. Also can anyone tell me the chances of getting admission this year.

Your chances will improve if you re-take the exam and improve your scores. 81 % is a good score but as the competition is high you need to score above 85% to be considered for an interview.

thanks henna.

nice to hear from u. I am planning the same thing but still hoping to get this year.
what about u?

hi henna........congrats in advance...........may GOD bless u....
regards
