Hi All,

Anyone know of any programs which are friendly to IMGs? Don't know if this question has been asked before, but I tried searching through some of the old posts and came up empty...any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Syracuse - SUNY Upstate

st louis univ has been known to take IMG in the past; top resident is what they seek, not nec biased against IMGs.

I think there is an IMG coming here next year. Thing is, there are the IMGs who are solid researchers and have lab interests - when you look at programs with FMGs you may want to try to figure out whether they are there just for that reason.

Yeah, we've had a few IMG's interviewing here this year. Typically, they're postdocs at Harvard who have extensive previous pathology experience.

I tell ya, if they get jipped in the match...something is wrong and it's really unfair for them cuz from looking at their applications, they're really stellar!

Andy! Bro!

Yeah but I think the problem is there are lots of stellar candidates. And the interview can really separate some people. I have no earthly idea how they decide.

Go for the larger cities where multiethnicity is the norm, like in NY, MI, MA, TX, etc. Look on their websites and see if the residents are IMGs or not. Then you can contact them and ask them directly if they have a lot of IMGs or not. Good luck!
