IMMEDIATE FELLOWSHIP POSITION- AUGUST-SEPTEMBER 2016

Virginia iSpine Physicians, PC

Interventional Spine Physiatry Fellowship

In 2011, Virginia iSpine Physicians established an accomplished, non-ACGME accredited, Interventional Spine Care Fellowship in Richmond, VA. Our program trains physical medicine and rehabilitation residents evidence-based Interventional Spine Care. Fellows learn how to critically interpret imaging studies and how to develop accurate diagnostic analyses and effective treatment plans. Fellows train directly under internationally renowned Dr. Michael DePalma on a daily basis which provides the best opportunity to hone their clinical acumen and procedural expertise. Dr. DePalma teaches fellows how to utilize a vast array of research findings to best take care of patients. His research has won international acclaim and his fellowship is recognized by his peers. Virginia iSpine Physicians is the only private practice fellowship in Virginia but has a robust clinical research infrastructure. Fellows serve as sub-investigators on various clinical studies such as intradiscal biologics and percutaneous lumbar decompression. Fellows receive hands-on training in a variety of fluoroscopically guided cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral procedures such as: epidurals, medial branch blocks/neurotomy, discography, intradiscal heating procedures, percutaneous discectomy, percutaneous augmentation, spinal cord stimulation, and cooled radiofrequency ablation. In addition, fellows are exposed to proper billing and coding, practice management, contracting, employment law, and the essentials to developing a successful interventional practice. We have an in-office procedure suite and perform cases at a free-standing ASC as well as a hospital ASC. Our practice is expanding and fellows will have the opportunity to stay with Virginia iSpine Physicians and help us grow.
