I am starting a Masters in Biology program this fall, and I am stuck as to which concentration to choose: Immunology or Hematology. I eventually do want to go to medical school, so I would like the classes to prepare me. In addition, someone said hematology may be too specific of a field. I also want to be realistic and think that if I do not get into medical school, I can still have a feasible career. I initially did want to do immunology but hematology seems more interesting to me now. If anyone has any suggestions or tips, please feel free to comment! thanks!

Both will prepare you for medical school. Immunology probably has more jobs in the event that you don't get in. I personally love immunology so I would go with that.

Have you shadowed people in each field? You probably know more about each than I do, but I've been shadowing some Hematology/Oncology physicians in the hospital, and they have a pretty interesting job.

thanks for the replies everybody! I actually haven't shadowed an immunologist or hematologist....what are the similarities and differences ( i mean i know they overlap sometimes)?
