I took immunology in first year and I have forgotten more than I should. What's a good source for a good rapid review? This is not for the boards or anything just for the second year curriculum.

Lange Micro and Immuno is good. If your school has AccessMedicine, it's on there. Better to read a "short" amount online than buy the whole book for just the immuno section.

Some people like USMLE roadmap.

I'm a fan of How the Immune System Works. Concise with straight forward language. Check of the reviews and read some of the first chapter online to see what you think. Maybe your library has a copy, or just use the immunology section in the Lange book med micro and immuno examination and board review --I'm sure you library will have a copy of this on reserve. Immunology can be a beeeatch, but it is doable. Good luck!

Lange is a good, concise immunology review. Doesn't give you too much, but does explain the main concepts. I'd check it out if I were you.

Immunology (along with embryology) was one of those subjects I just couldn't "get" in med school.

I'm only now really starting to understand Immuno now that I'm working with lung transplants all the time.

we are using the basic immuno as our text. i like it quite a lot. quite concise and straight to the point~

I agree about Embryo--I wonder sometimes if it isn't the subject so much as the way it is taught. Maybe it is just a difficult subject to teach to other people, or maybe the kind of people who are attracted to it are just not that good at teaching. Our lectures are mind-boggling-ly technical, with words thrown in that only people who've studied Embryology for years would understand. The book we were assigned is also awful in this respect...it is like reading a foreign language. I find it much easier to study on my own, wiki-ing terms here and there to help form a picture of what is going on.
