Hi,

I wanted to ask anyone's take on the implant dentistry programs that are available like the ones at Harvard, BU, Rochester, and South Carolina. How much do they differ from a traditional pros residency program apart from the length and that it is not a recognized specialty as far as I'm aware?
From a practice standpoint, would this kind of program be beneficial to a GP since OS and perio are usually the specialties that come in mind to place implants?

Not a recognized specialty. Most are very expensive. I doubt they would consider a GP as an entrant. Usually the people doing those programs are prosthodontists, periodontists, and oral surgeons to gain more experience with implants.
