Hey all,

I was wondering: how important is it that a person receive a balanced score on the MCAT? I need a 30 to get into my school of choice so I am wondering, say for example I receive a 9-9-12 on the MCAT, would I need to retake the MCAT in order to have a better shot at acceptance? Does the imbalance in scores like this adversely affect the applicant?

Imbalance only matters when one of the scores is low. A score like 10-10-15 just means that you're amazing at bio.

12-12-6 on the other hand is imbalanced.

agreed.

at a minimum, you should make sure that each section is a 9. 10's across the board is of course better.
