Hey, first time poster here!

I had an interview last week, and I'm sort of nervous and unsure of how it went. It wasn't a bad interview, but I feel as if I didn't sell myself at all.

How important do you guys think it is to make yourself look like a really interesting person to the interviewer? I know this is kind of a dumb question, but I'm pretty sure my stats are good enough to get in, but I'm scared of getting rejected since my interview was mediocre/average.

Thanks 🙂

I personally feel that stats get your interviews and good interviews get you acceptances. I would suggest focusing on interviewing better at later schools. Its crucial to have good interviews. Why would they invite you for interviews if they didn't play a major role in the acceptance process.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I'd say 5.

I've actually been curious about this... do you think everyone is just about on the same playing field once they get their interviews? Or is it just a small portion of the overall picture? Is a student with the best stats + poor interview < or > or = to a student with lower end stats + great interview?

the interview does not matter at all for OOS intervieews. the dental schools have a secret deal with the u.s. airlines to split the money from your plane ticket purchase so that is why you got interviewed, and what makes matters worse is the dental school's in-state and neighboring state's intervieews are picked by random draw from a hat...

or so i've heard.

What you heard might be accurate. So start spreading the news 😀

I know somebody who has a 23AA and a decent GPA and didn't get in to any schools last year. I don't think they will let you in if you don't interview well.
