are your M1/M2 lecture notes important in studying for Step I? Do you use them at all or just use First Aid/Review Books?

There is so much paper (this is our class syllabus) and I'm moving between different apartments, so I'm contemplating of just throwing everything out. Is that a good idea?

you could throw them out but if i were you i would keep them just for my sanity and state of mind..you probably won't need them coz everything is covered in either First aid or UW or wikipedia/google! but still, being under so much stress and "wanting what you don't have" will get you in a state of mind where you regret not reading a certain point or something that you had explained well in your notes..

The less you focus on class and the more you focus on the USMLE, the better you'll do on the latter.

The 2012 scores thread had a kid who was in the bottom 1/3 of his class with a 270+, and he mentioned that his class's MS2 valedictorian only got a 245.

I had a pile of notes that went to my knees after M1. I also contemplated keeping them but they aren't useful. Way too detailed and way too dense for any review. I tossed mine when I moved between m1-m2.

You will never look at them again, especially once you get past step 1.

you could burn all your notes and do just fine on the usmle (I would recommend this option as a potential stress relief leading up to your test unless you want to put everything in binders to fill your bookshelf/satisfy your own neurotic tendencies..which I may have done...).

First aid>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>class notes.

the only useful thing about these notes would be the knowledge you got from them (corny but doing well in school does make the studying a tad easier)
