Hello everyone, I am fortunate enough to be accepted into my top choice med school a couple of weeks ago. However, I had a question regarding completing my prerequisites. I still have to complete a semester of English which I wrote on my amcas that I was completing this semester. However due to conflict with interviews, I was not able to take that English class this semester instead I will be taking that class next semester( my final semester before I graduate). I was wondering if this was okay and if I would be in trouble with the school because I wrote that I would take it this semester. I feel it is alright because the future coursework is nonbinding and I am still taking the course but just next semester. Thanks everyone. Advice from anyone especially adcom members @Goro@LizzyM @gyngyn would be appreciated.

I think as long as the class is completed by matriculation you should be fine since you will have to send your official transcript in only after you graduate and that will include that course regardless of if you take it this semester or next.

I would qualify this slightly. Since many medical schools are starting earlier and earlier, some have moved up their prerequisite completion date to June of starting year or even earlier. A few as early as January of starting year. You need to contact the school that you are planning to attend and find out their specific policy on this issue ASAP
This school allows you to complete your prereqs by matriculation. Knowing this do you think switching up the class like this is a problem.

no, not at all. I switched some of my classes around and even withdrew from a class with a W and the school I was accepted to did not care. I was really worried about it too, for nothing.
your future courses on AMCAS are non-binding for a reason. med schools understand that sometimes plans change
