Apologies, but I'll have to give you some quick background information so I can get the most relevant/logical response:

I started college as a business management major, but didn't care about school because I was focused on my music career (singer/songwriter/producer). After 3 years of school I dropped out to go on tour and release an album. During that year I decided I wanted to become a doctor (I know...weird. Very long story on that epiphany that I won't tap into here).
So I re-enrolled but changed majors to Biology. My cGPA was sitting at a 3.18, so I knew I had an uphill battle to fight with, what I was told, were very tough classes. Being 21 and in a serious relationship, I wanted to get out of undergrad ASAP, so I crammed in as many hours as I could in spring, summer, and fall. That was two years ago, and I have successfully made a 4.0 in every semester since, bringing my cGPA up to a 3.62.

So the dilemma is this: I still have 34 hrs left till I graduate. I'm taking 17 this fall, 14 in the spring (3 bios and biochemistry), 3 hours in June (genetics), and then I'm done. The thing is I'm now engaged and plan on being married October 2014, and I TRULY want to apply in May. I obviously won't have time to significantly study for the MCAT between now and then, so I was going to apply in May and take the MCAT in late August, giving me roughly 2 months of undisturbed, 8 hrs/day, 6 days/week studying. I talked to an admissions director about whether or not I could do that, and was told that it was feasible, but my application would not be reviewed until the MCAT score was in, which would make me very late and that I would require a competitive score to get in, but was still definitely doable.

I am desperate to just finish this chapter in my life for two reasons: 1. I've been in the undergad stage for 5 years, I know what I truly want now, and I'm ready to go get it. 2. I want the MCAT monster to be out of my closet before my wedding day.

Is this plan reasonable? And if so, should I begin content reviewing back and forth now? Really feeling lost. 🙁

Thanks for the help!

First, you don't want to retake the MCAT, and second, you don't want to have to reapply. What you should do is lighten your school load to give yourself enough time to study for the MCAT to have it complete before you apply, and take your last classes during the application cycle. Doing it that way, instead of rushing to finish your courses sooner and bumping your MCAT back, is the best way to get into med school as soon as possible. Spreading your courses out and taking the MCAT earlier gives you the best chances of getting into med school on your first try, compared to your plan above.

Thank you! Ill definitely consider this.

The art of surviving medical school is good time mgt, so here is a good chance to put your skills to the test.

If you're in Texas, you may want to consider that most Texas med schools have already started interviews in August. If you don't take your MCAT until August, your score won't even come back until September, which will make you extremely late for the application cycle.
