I applied to both mstp and md programs at several Texas schools. I had one interview with A&M in mid July for both programs, but nothing since then. I am concerned that a lot of schools won't consider me because I applied to both programs. Did I completely screw myself over?

Stats: 3.57 GPA (biophysics major at UT Austin)
514 MCAT
2 years research, had to find paid position for financial reasons and could not continue in research
1 publication
2 years as a calculus Learning assistant
1 year on the student conduct board as a hearing officer for cases of academic dishonesty
Over 150+ shadowing hours
Over 150+ volunteer hours, mostly in ICU and ER
Member of ALDPES club for 3.5 yrs
Artists that has sold paintings for $$

GPA dropped the two semesters after my grandfather died two weeks before my MCAT, then my dog died the day of the MCAT, am working on improving it

This is borderline WAMC post. Your stats and experiences are fine. Maybe your interview went poorly? If not it is also normal for you not to hear something as they can whilst you until the summer. I heard of people getting acceptances a week before the deadline closes. Most schools consider the programs separately, at least I know for MD/PHD I know that is the case. Donloseose hope yet.

The interview that I had at A&M went very well. What concerns me is that I have not heard from ANY other schools. I read on other threads that applying to both may kill my chances at some schools, and that is what I'm afraid of. I just don't get why I would get a very early interview at one school and no interview at other similar schools.

Schools are different with different missions and different programs, one interview does not mean another. I believe that in Texas they are considered separately. The cycle is just beginning, you might not hear back until May. Your GPA and MCAT arent high enough for MD/PhD tho. Why do you want to do it?

I knew it was a long shot for md/phd considering my stats. I really love research and know it is something I will end up doing, even if I can't get into an md/phd program. It's the feeling of discovery and never ending questions that really makes it something I'm passionate about. Nothing gets my goat quite like a question that I can't answer, yet.
