What time of year are inservice exams? Will we have one intern year?
who cares......enjoy your time now dude 😉

i believe its usually in the fall. from what i've been told, most hospitals offer it within the same few weeks and results come out in january or so. and some hospitals may not make their interns take it. ours did.

Yes, the inservice exam is held around October. It is program-dependent whether it's required for you to take it. My program offered it to most interns as an optional self-evaluation, but it was required for second years and for interns who are fast tracking.

If you have to take it as an intern, keep in mind that your score is only compared to that of other interns across the country -- they do not include the 2nd and 3rd years in the calculation of your score.

i'm 3rd yr ms thinking about IM. For inservice exam, are the questions similar to IM section of step 2? is there a "passing" score, or a conversion between the inservice exam and the actual board exam? thanks.

"I am a 3rd year med student worrying about residency in-service exams." LOL. It doesn't matter which field you decide to go into, in-service exams exist in practically all residencies.
