Hey all,
So i am hoping someone has some advice for me...I have applied to neurology and guess what...yep just found out that I failed step 2ck...go figure...the real kicker is that I had automatically released my scores, so by now, every program has my score. My questions are as follows, 1. if I take the step again in 2 weeks and do well (90s) am I still in the running this year? 2. Do neuro programs even interview candidates with failures or am shall I just simply apply to FM? 3. Are chance of scramble spots?
If anyone has been in a similiar situation, please contact me, I seriously could use some serious advice...Thanks in advance

if you feel you are ready to take the test again, sure, it will be a big help I think. how big of a margin did you miss the pass mark? i know there is no way that you can be "sure" that you are ready, but I mean, just make sure that you aren't signing up to take the test as a knee jerk reaction, because of course, you want to do good in it, right? I'm sure you can do well in it given adequate studying. have you had any interview offers? If so, you could always just explain about the duress you were in during the time of the test. As for chances, only time will really tell. As it is, you've already applied to neuro so that is that and we will just ope and pray. You can apply to a back up program if you want. I didn't. But that is my choice. Will I regret it? Time will tell...
good luck to us!

See my post on the other board.
But let's be honest. You wanted to do surgery first and then you got your score back (Step 1). And then you wanted to do neurology. Sloppy Seconds eh?

😕 i don't get it.... you were quoting me? i never wanted to do surgery...and my step 1 is fine...
