If I match, I will have to finish my PhD dissertation and defend it successfully before the 2nd week of June! Plus, I will have to grapple with visa issues (am FMG). Then, I'll have to live away from my wife and 2yo daughter for at least 1 year. And since it is most likely I'll match into a prelim spot, i'll have to go through the match again.
If I don't match this year I can finish my PhD in a more leisurely manner, get some USCE, and apply for match 2008. Plus, i'll be with my family. And I'll have more time with my PS2
So, getting matched is good for my ego, bad lifestyle-wise. Not matching will mean that 2007 will be a vacation year, but my ego will be bruised.....and I'll be a year older before joining a residency
