My Prof posted this question and ill just reword it so its not same


lets say to diagnose Disease X, u must have atleast 10mm induration. If the guidelines change and the new rule is that u must have atleast 15mm induration.

What happens to incidence and prevalence ?

Not sure if I am suppose to answer these type of question for undergrads (poster is pre-med), mods can delete the post if they feel it is necessary.

So if the induration increases by 5mm, that means you need to be "more sick" to have a positive value. Your new cases will go down (incidence) and your current cases (prevalence) will remain the same.
