Hey guys,
I ran a search on this but couldn't find anything specific. I was wondering how much a science section can increase per week of hardcore studying and practicing. I'm talking 8 hour days.
I'm scoring 7s and 8s and there are like 5 weeks left. I'm improving in the number of questions right, but apparently not enough for a point increase.
I'm taking PR exams.

Also, verbal is 7-8 now. I'm doing EK. Strategies are good I hear but I haven't increased yet.
With 5 weeks left, is it possible to get a 30?
Time to go sob.

Thanks.

You just searched for the wrong threads 🙂 Biggest TPR score increase is between test 3 and 4 IMHO. If your score isn't even close to where you want it on test 4, then worry.

Keep studying hard. Look at what's hurting you on your diags. Talk to your teachers. Keep studying hard (did I say that?). Take diag 4, re-evaluate.

do not give in to negativity. that is the worst thing you can do in your mcat prep.

if you dont want to sound cocky to your friends, play it down - thats fine. but youre the one putting in the hours of study time and making the sacrifices, are you doing that for nothing? no, youre doing it so you can kick ass in august. and if you study hard and practice with enough tests, youve done all you can do. walk in that testing center confident, knowing that you couldnt possibly be more prepared than your are that day.

If you expect a 'steady' increase - you may be dissapointed. My experience is that people who have taken TPR have had constant (and sometimes slight dips) for tests 1-3. So, you take diag 1. Diag 2 - the same, maybe a point or two up or down. Same for diag 3. Then a huge bump for Diags 4 and 5 (AAMC 5R/6R).

If you had expected a steady increase, you might tend to 'give up' after seeing no bump by the time diag 3 rolls around. I know it is hard, but you can't expect it just see linear progression. Near the end, a lot of things come together. You are finishing up the material, you are perfecting your test taking techniques, the 5R/6R are writting more like actual MCAT - etc.

I know this doesn't help tooo much, but wanted to put it in persepective . . .
