There are new glaucoma studies indicating that the reason for the disease is due to the difference between the intraocular pressure and CSF pressure. One of the proposed solution is to increase the CSF pressure to minimize the difference between the two pressures.

I couldn't help but think, is this safe? Do we know anything about how we can do this, and whether this will have any worriesome effects?

Increasing CSF pressure causes too many known disorders( including severe vision loss from optic nerve swelling) and probably some unknown disorders to be considered.
