Indiana Interview

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I wish...I just now got my postcard from them..

Looks like I won't be interviewing until October 🙁

I shall be there on Sept. 17th as well. It looks like I will stay for my interview and then leave right after that so I can get back home for work. I figure the rest is just why you should come here, how to pay for it kind of stuff that I can get later.

i'll be there the same day as well.....sep 17th. just to let ya know...should be a good time if all goes well......good luck all

I had mine 2 days ago... It was a really good experience... very laid back, with great interviewers. Just come relaxed and be yourself. They really just want to get to know you better. Also, know your SAT/ACT score and high school class rank, because that is the first thing they'll ask you. Best of luck!!!

If i don't remember my SAT or High school rank should i contact my school??or make an educated guess... I don't remember the exact numbers

I am just going to make up my high school rank because it doesn't really matter and then I'll provide my GRE scores in place of my SAT scores.

Just out of curiosity...

Did any of you get an interview offer BEFORE getting a secondary? I just got an email offering me an interview date on Sept. 17, but I have only recieved their postcard so far. Needless to say, I am very excited as I wasn't expecting to interview until at least late October. 🙂 I guess I will go ahead and forward my LOR to IU. 🙂

That's strange, I didn't think IUPUI invited people via e-mail. It must be something new they are doing. Anyway, congrats on the interview invite, I shall be there as well.

Yeah...it seems odd...

I emailed the admissions officer back last night, but have not recieved a response. I just hope it wasn't some glitch or something. I guess it makes me feel a little better if IU generally does NOT invite people via email (so at least the email was probably sent intentionally). Maybe I just got lucky. My best guess is that they have extra space on the 17th, but not enough people to fill it yet so they choose some people to fill in the gaps even without a secondary....I don't know.

weird...but cool if it works out!

I had a question... can i bring a family member on the tour etc on the 17th?? I would like to show IU campus to my Bro who is a doctor and see what he thinks of the environment but don't wana look stupid.... let me know

Just call the admissions office and ask. I called today about my interview and the lady I spoke with was extremely friendly and helpful.

**The lady I talked to wasn't the one that sent me the email interview invitation (she was out of the office today), but she didn't express any surprise when I told her I had an invite without a secondary...still seems weird to me.**

YEAH!🙂 🙂

My interview is now official!

Wed Sept. 17 at 3:15.

Now I just need to send in their "secondary".

Has anyone heard of any other interview dates before Oct. 15? I am trying to figure out about how many people we will be competing against for the first set of acceptances. Last year they interviewed 744 people over 9 interview days. I would imagine they interview more people at the beginning so maybe 90 interviewees per day for the first few? So far I have heard of two interview days (aug 27 and sept 17) I would think that would probably then mean one more interview session the first week of October before they start deciding who to let in. That would probably mean competing against like 270 people so far. They gave out 374 acceptances last year. I say that they just let all of us in who interview before Oct 15 and fill the last 100 acceptances with those who interview later. 🙂
