I got an invite for a Spring interview at Indiana today, but the email said:

"Please be aware that if you are a non-resident applicant, there is a strong likelihood that these interviews will be for alternate positions only."

I am a California resident. Also, I am years removed from undergrad, but I haven't taken a psych course and I need to enroll in one before they schedule an interview

What is your opinion on this? Do you think I should waste my time and money on it?

I can't help you with the psych course but I would take the interview offer since you could always cancel your interview after Dec 1 if you get admitted to a place that you like better. IU is pretty expensive for OOS so I would say there will be movement on that alternate list.
Here in the Midwest IU has been known to produce very clinically competent dentists. Indianopolis is nice city to live.

When you guys say spring interview, what date was offered to you? Why would they issue spring dates so early? I dont think they are that filled yet for pre-dec 1st interviews and your stats look perfectly fine....sounds a little strange.

I was emailed on Monday and they requested official transcripts because I just finished classes. I overnighted one and then They said that their Fall interviews were full and offered "spring interviews". After my check gets there they will send dates so that I can sign up.

Yeah I got the same email today about Spring Interviews. They are probably post Dec interviews, after the first round of acceptances.

I have to take anatomy with lab and some physiology! But I just moved out of my home state and tuition is EXPENSIVE for out of state resident.

I will probably enroll in a spring course for anatomy back in california where it is cheaper haha. Either way, the class will help out in dental school ^^.

My friend is also a California resident and he was accepted to Indiana for fall 2009, so I wouldn't worry so much about the "we want indiana residents!" statements too much.
