Who else is on the wait list for Indiana? I called a few weeks ago and they said they don't expect any movement until sometime in February. I'm number 10 on the list, so hopefully I'll hear some good news next month.

I called Ms. Rhonda Lee several times.
And all she can tell is "just wait" till she calls. 🙂
I guess we have to wait.... uhhhh
No, I didn't ask. I'll probably call them again in a few weeks.

I was told yesterday that there was only 9 names on the waitlist. Interviews conducted in the month of Feb are to supplement the waitlist. Anyone else hear this?
That's interesting because when I called them on November 30th they told me they had about 21 people on the list at that time. I'm on the out-of-state list. Is it the in-state list that has 9 people on it?
I called last week and they told me there were 8 on the list (out of state list) and she said not to worry because they have gone through over 50 people on the list before to fill the class. I'm not on the list but hope to get on the list.

i think that there are 2 lists.
in addition to the december 1st acceptances they made an alternate pool of ~20 to invite as other people withdrew. im guessing this list has 8 now.
then on dec 1, they also declined applicants. those not declined are on the traditional wait-list. they meet in feb and make a decision. i'm guessing its based on fall grades and # of seats left

Bunch of people who are on waitlist dropped their staus. That's why out-of-state list is now 8. When I called Dec.1, I was on 6th, and I was told yesterday I am on 1st.
I just called and I am now number 3 on the out-of-state list!!

It looks like in the past most people on the alternate list were accepted, so I hope that happens this year. 👍 I noticed on your predents that you interviewed at some other schools. Is Indiana your first choice, or will you chose one of the others if they accept you?

Ahhhh! 😱 I'm really freaking out waiting for Indiana to call me! Indiana's admissions process is going much slower than past years....I NEED TO HEAR FROM THEM SOON! Anyone else heard anything?

The January and February interviewees are going to be notified as to whether they are accepted on March 4th. There were 10 spots left and they had already accepted 39 out of staters and 51 in staters. I'm guessing after that date IU will know a lot more about where everybody moves to on the waitlist. Other than that I know that sometimes people on the waitlist aren't called upon until weeks before school starts. So, just hope for the best and plan for the worst like I'm doing.

I was just comparing this year to the last couple years. From previous threads of other application cycles they started accepting off the alternate list at IUSD in January and February. From what I understand, those who interviewed in January and February this year interviewed to get on the alternate list. All acceptances were sent out on Nov 30/Dec 1. From here on out people will be accepted off the alternate list.

Thats what I was told before my interview by Dr. Kasberg. He may have lied, but he seems like a straight shooter so I doubt it. What he did say is that it was going to be extremely competitive. (1/3 chances for the 10 remaining spots) Either way I'll keep you updated come Monday.

Okay Chevyiiguy, did you get in or what? I just got emailed from IU. Was denied admittance. Hopefully today will be a better day for someone else.

No, I haven't been accepted yet. I emailed Dr. Kasberg and he said they currently have 35 out-of-state students that are still holding their spots. That's their maximum. So hopefully at least three of them will decide to go to other schools. The waiting is killer. This is my third time applying and I really hope it's my last.

None taken. Plus I did hear back today and I was accepted! Also, I did hear the alternate list for out of staters moves quickly so you have still got a very god chance, especially if you are # 3 on the list.
well I'll most likely be accepting a seat at UIC. So there will be a instate chair opening up soon....

Ya, they said at IU that I didn't have enough credits taken at a university. I don't get it. They should have known that before they interviewed me and gotten my hopes up. I talked to Dr. K after and he explained everything to me and was very informative and helpful. I am still on the alternate list at two other schools. Like you said, it's the waiting that is such a killer.

How many University credits do you have? Im assuming you transfered from a CC....? Is that they main reason you were rejected? Good luck with the other two schools that you are waitlisted at....
That's how they made it sound. I have 48 credits from a University completed plus I'm halfway done with another 14 this semester. I don't understand because I'll be graduated by summer.

Hi chevyiiguy, any news? I called in yesterday and was told that I am still in # 10? Is the list running slow this year or is it at its normal rate? I am becoming more nervous now! I hope the list moves again SOON!
Anyway, has anyone from out of state flown to Indiana to look at apartments there? Any suggestions? I'm starting my apartment-hunting and was hoping to get some advice on which ones are good for IUSD students!

I think the list seems like it's moving slow just because we are so anxiously waiting on it! 😱 I do hope to hear soon, because my wife and I would like to find a good place to live. Once we get the official acceptance we are going to either fly or drive out and find a place. We're looking at the possibility of buying a home. I'm ready to have a place of our own, but we'll see how that works out financially.
Anyone else out there on the alternate list? Are they any out-of-state students accepted to IUSD that are thinking about dropping their spot and choosing another school?
