Info regarding health policy, HMOs, etc.

I was wondering what the best way to research on the US current health care problems would be...HMOs, etc.
Can anyone recommend any books regarding the subject?

Glad to see so much enthusiasm/interest in this year's app cycle in the future (and present) of health care policy! Three good threads came up when I searched Pre-Allo for 'health policy'

(1)health policy
(2) preppin for interviews,books to read
(3) Universal Health Care.. are we close? - this is one of the best threads on Pre-allo this year (haven't seen as much since I'm not applying) and you will learn something just reading through this.

the book I've heard rave reviews of- even used as a textbook some places- is Understanding Health Policy. Just got it in the mail day before last. Haven't done more than place it on my stack of 'books i planned to read during winter break in the imaginary time away from family and bowl games'
