Hi Guys,

Since I will be reapplying this year, I took the liberty of going to the ADEA website and see how the good 'ole application was doing (hadn't been there for a while). I noticed that there are a few new things, specifically the AClient and the INfosource. Can anyone tell me what the heck these are and if they will be used for this coming application cycle. They sound a little exciting, eh?

Thanx,

4.0,

GIRL!! Are you avoiding me? I'm going to ask you for the last time, did your boyfriend/husband/fiance get into Nova? Is he my classmate?! 😡

Just want to know. <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

Hey Yah-E!!!!!

Sorry! I have definitely not been avoiding you!!! How are you??? Well, to answer your question... my husband -- he's on the alternate list. We're kinda in the dark with what his chances are of actually getting in, however my understanding is that the chances are pretty low. But, I don't want to jinx him by being negative, so I won't be. I still hope and pray that he will get in!

I'm glad everything has worked out for you!
C-ya on MSN!

4.0,

About time you replied!!! <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

Sorry to hear that your hubby is on the alternate list! I wish him the best of luck! I know that there are 7 unclaimed seats in the class as of yesterday (93 people paid both of their Nova deposites), but there are more acceptance letters that went out yesterday too PLUS the 100+ people on the alternate list. You may be right on the chances of getting in!!! Again, you never know with these things.

Alright girl, good to see that you're still alive!!! 😀

4.0,

InfoSource will be used by the applicants and AClient will be used by the dental schools. AClient has been used in admissions cycles for the past four years, while this is the first year for InfoSource.

InfoSource will allow the applicant to view the status of their application at each school they have applied to, all from one webpage. That means it won't be necessary to call schools or check multiple web pages -- we can do it all from the same page!

For more on InfoSource, see the topic "AADSAS Application Delayed" here in the pre-dent forum. InfoSource will really be a great thing, however only roughly half of the schools are participating in it this year because it is a beta test year. Applicants for 2004 should have the luxury of every school participating in InfoSource.

AClient is the AADSAS Client, which is designed to automate the admissions process at each dental school. Essentially it is a database that allows the addmissions committees to track applicant info and status. Now, with InfoSource coming out, the AClient will serve as the backbone of InfoSource. AClient can generate over 40 individual reports for dental schools and allow them to view the applicant pool from a very broad perspective, or from a precise dimension.

I'm generally familiar with both of these systems, so let me know if you have any questions.
