Infosource Is Up!

That's pretty cool....so will each school be posting whether or not we have been accepted on Dec. 1? It would be a nice, fast, easy way to find out if it works.

You can also view if your transcripts/LOR were received and when your application was mailed.
 
Does this thing tell you whether or not you are being interviewed or if a school decides to reject you from the get go?

Just checked my infosource, had a question. Under transcripts, it has my university transcripts as received, however, it says my high school (AP credit) has not been received. We don't have to send this right ? or do we ?

I didn't see a place where it lists what interviews you have had...where did you find this info?
 
it showed all the schools i applied to, as well as the status of my application at each school. for one school, the status states 'interview invite'. but for some of the others (where i have already interviewed) said nothing.

so i was curious how often the schools or adea actualy update this.
 
Thanks, my status states N/A for all of them...this is most likely due to the fact that the site just came online this morning. I think the schools will update this database weekly as it is ties into the AClient (I believe)...we are just jumping the gun a bit...

i saw it when i had logged into infosource, but it doesn't bring anything up.
 
InfoSource really is a great tool. Just remember that this is the second year it has been around, so it probably isn't perfect.

Also, it is up to the SCHOOLS to update the information, so if you don't see the info there then talk to the schools about it.

Word to you and yours.
 
i checked mine and didn't find it that much helpful. i guess it will become much more helpful and updated once we are in dec.
 
For those interested in Tufts, at their interview they mentioned that we should be sure to check it around Dec. 1st because they will be updating it.
 
Hi,

when I checked the site it says "InfoSource data will be available to applicants after October 15, 2003. " So I guess not luck for me!
 
For all the those who applied last year, would you say that Infosource was useful and always up to date? Cause Gavin was saying that its only in its second year and is not perfect yet, so I was wondering what problems people were having last year with it!
 
It kind of freaked me out. After you log on, when you click on The INFOSOURCE logo, it takes you to this website search engine called NETSTER that has a turkey or chicken mascot. I thought this might have been a scam.
 
Some schools have updated their data (like Maryland) so login and check the status of your application.
 
for those who have applied to Maryland and received and interview what does infosource say? All mine says is that the application is complete and there is a link saying that I can fax/mail in a secondary. It does not mention that I have an interview, the same for everyone else???

i just got the interview invite yesterday, so they probably havent scheduled my appt yet.

BTW, how is maryland during January?
I heard it is snowy there.
 
Do you think more schools than the 13 currently listed will start using inforsource, or will a minority of the schools use it? Seems like a good idea to me, hope they all start using it.
 
Chances are if there is any change shown on infosource (like acceptance status, interviews), you will already be notified of via email or phone from the school.
 
For everyone checking this thing 20x a day. It has been updated on 10/24/03
 
Received an email today from Tufts saying they have been using infosource since Oct. 15th and that we should check that for our status because of the extremely high volume of applicants it could take 6-8weeks for mailings to reach us.

However, I interviewd at Tufts close to a month ago, and I have no information from them in Infosource. Anybody else??
 
The downside to infosource is updating the information every-friday... This is as bad as Dec 1st.+pissed+
 
yes, dont worry, it says the same thing for me on inforsource. It just says my Maryland application is complete.....but I do have an interview there.

I think infosource is new and it's up to the schools to update it and sometimes they don't.
 
i hope we could keep this thread in the front page eventhough it won't be easy when we have 20 new threads opened everyday.
 
THE SITE GETS UPDATED ALMOST EVERYDAY AND YET MANY OF THE SCHOOLS THAT HAVE REJECTED ME OR GIVEN ME AN INTERVIEW STILL SAYS na FOR THE STATUS.
 
I dont think they update everyday.
Because my professor sent in a LOR earlier this wk
and they havent received it yet.

Not all schools participate with infosoursce.
 
I think the site is pretty cool! I just found out I was denied at U of Maryland. I am not surprise at all given the fact that I am a Cal resident. In fact, I was more surprised at my good reaction. Lets hope this trend does not continue for much longer.
 
Well, my LOR just got updated on the 7th or the 8th.
It seems that there is a day or two delay for the server to update.
cos they received my LOR on the 5th.
 
i think that starting nov 15, infosource will be updated every FRI. i know this was the case for last year's application cycle.
 
my app looks like it keeps getting updated almost every other day so you guys keep checking yours too.

Granted Infosource is still in its primary stages, but at this point, it is the most useless things i have ever paid for.

Yeah, infosource has turned out to be a total bust so far.
 
Do you think they will update infosource at midnight? They did not update it on Friday ....
 
i doubt any schools would care so much as to being there and updating this at midnight.
if they update, it won't be till tomorrow mid day.
 
the school does not update it. It just sends the info to AADSAS and they post the updates. Its up to AADSAS to decide when to relese the new info from the schools.
 
even better. we know how much AADSAS cares about us right?:laugh: :laugh:


i think the best thing to do is to just call the schools tomorrow.
 
Does anyone know if Infosource will be updated today...or are they going to make us wait till Friday?

Has anyone found out acceptances through infosource?
Just seeing how useful (useless) this thing actually is.
