I wasn't satisfied with KA's answer for this one. To me, the only one I can rule out for sure is X-linked dominant. Autosomal dominant and autosomal recessive are both possible. Looking for a good reason as to why X-linked recessive is the better answer?

Its a "most likely" question. Although B and D both highly likely, D is more likely because of the huge gender gap in inheritance.
 
You would expect to see no gender bias if it was autosomal. In other words, the split should be about 50:50 each way. From the graph, one could say a lot of things about the gender ratio but equal is not one of them. You should be wary of cut-and-dry answers. The new MCAT is very data-driven and in science, cut-and-dry answers are rarely obtained. The data will inevitably have some noise in it and the key skill is to be able to get at the main information the data is telling you, on top of the noise.

Also, the new MCAT does not test pedigree analysis.

what exactly are you basing this on? there is an entire section of the aamc content pdf on classical genetics. There are pedigree Qs and their direct concepts being tested all over the Khan materials and in the aamc Q packs and sample test.

This q from the aamc sample test explciityl tests and requires you to beccomfortable with inheritance patterns. This is most commonly done with you guessed it, pedigrees. I don't see punnett squares explicitly listed on the aamc pdf either, but the concept is tested all over the Q packs and sample test as well. Would you have people ignore that too?

please be careful about what you say about what is/is not on the exam considering your lack of authority. The exam is so new and most of us are so nervous people here will believe you.

I do not recall specific pedigree questions on the QPacks or Sample test but I did skips ones in KA because I knew it wouldn't be on the exam.
