Hi, I'm a bit confused. I've taken Gen Chem, Organic and Biochem (8 semester hrs of each). Am I still expected to take Inorganic Chem for DO school applications? Inorganic is a whole other course at my school. Thankks so much.

For pre-reqs, inorganic = general chemistry (Chem 101/102 or whatever).

There is actual Inorganic Chemistry (Chem 401 or whatever), usually for chemistry/biochem majors and not required for med schools 🙂

As stated any chem class you take that isn't orgo, falls into gen chem. Ive had an intro to orgo/biocem that falls into gen chem for example. Gen chem covers a wide spectrum rgo chem, not so much

I got into 3 DO schools with only taking 5 semester hours of inorganic chem, but it was an accelerated sequence at UW-Madison....I think I was an exception to the rule
