Any one with experience in inpatient pediatrics? I am considering doing a clinical rotation in this area and I want to know what you all think about the area. Anyone with personal experience working in the field and/or advice? Also any recommendations on hospitals that have good inpatient pediatric programs? Thanks!

My professors told me peds PT's are very very passionate, if you do not share that passion and you just wanna "try" it out pray for a nice CI or fake it till you make it. I would recommend Vanderbilt, getting a rotation there may be difficult.

A lot of times it can be really tough to get a peds job as a new grad, especially in a hospital. So if you think you want this and there is an opportunity somewhere you'd want to live, I'd go with that, as it could be your foot in the door if you've been a student there!

We typically only introduce students to the NICU. You need a lot more exposure to work with babies or PedIP. Teaching hospitals usually have more opportunities.

Not sure what your location is but Totally Kids excepted interns and offered them jobs after they graduated. Most kids there (0-21 y.o.) have brain damage and maybe half of them are on life support for years. So this setting may be very discouraging for some people, but it just depends on your perception of all this.
