Hello!!

I have thought loooong and hard about what I want to do with my life, and I'm sure that dentistry is for me!!

I have a few questions though...

I am currently at Georgia Institute of Technology studying BME.

I really want to get into a good dental school, and I know that an engineering degree will lower my gpa.

What degree do most people going to dental school get? I like science in general, I also like psychology a lot, but i really dislike calculus....

Any input/advice would be much appreciated!!

A lot of people get science related degrees but it is not necessary. Look at websites for the dental schools and see what they require. As long as you take the classes they require, that is all you need to do. Find something you will like because if you are more interested in a major then you will get better grades, rather then going for the biochem degree and doing poorly. Good luck.

thats what ive been hearing... the whole reason im doing biomedical engineering is to have a back-up career if i dont get into dental schoo.

But, if i know that i want to be a dentist and that is REALLY REALLY what i want to do (which it is), i think it is more important to focus on that goal.
