Insanely expensive Cost of Attendance thread!!

Things that cost about $400,000:

I recently interviewed at FIU. Sure, the MSAR puts cost of tuition at about $57,000/year for OOS students (which is expensive), but once you add the $20,000 student fee and cost of living you end up with a cost of attendance around $100,000/year.

Since student loan debt recently surpassed credit card debt in the USA, I think its a good time to ask,

What other schools have you all interviewed at which blew your mind as soon as the cost of attendance chart popped up??

That would be cool to do medical school on a working cruise ship / hospital ship. You'd have an influx of people with a myriad of health problems you could treat and stuff.

Cost of attendance shouldnt really including living costs since even if you didnt go to, you would still pay living costs.

Either way, UK is really high for OOS. Estimated next year is 67k tuition + other things

I disagree because if you have a job, you are getting paid so the cost of living is covered by your salary. In the case of medical school, it is sunk cost which is variable depending on where you are.... So I think it is relevant.

Both schools in South Carolina are pretty outrageous for OOS (though I believe you can establish residency after the first year for one of them). Also Tufts is way up there.

I think Wayne State, UIC are more expensive for OOS...

Michigan State is pretty gnarly too though.

You can do it for USC. I found that it is less expensive for me as a GA resident to go there with that option as opposed to Mercer.
