I have no idea or clue on how to approach this TFE...Can some shed some light on this ridiculous TFE. If the picture is too small, download it and blow it up, SDN wouldn't let me increase the size. Thanks!

Yeah, this is an insanely hard problem.

I see how it's 1 after you told me the answer, but it is very hard to see. I don't see why 2 cannot be answer either.

1 just forces you to look at the shapes in such irregular ways.. Haha.

yea i'll be honest..i have no idea how i would approach this kind of a problem.

i completely sucked at TFE until about a month ago, when I just went through 2 tests worth of TFE on CDP and looked at every single explanation. looking at the actual figures helps you out SO MUCH because after a while...you'll be able to hone your perceptual ability.

If there was a better picture it would be easier, but with that resolution, it's impossible to figure out.

The easiest way i can find to explain why 1 is the correct choice is below.

if we first look at the END view we see the farthest left line is very steep (this is also the closet line in the FRONT view.

now where i think some of you may be getting caught up is the perception in the TOP view thinking the highest point in the shape is the middle point and not the one below it.

so perceptually from the TOP view we think it is smaller but this high point is actually a large blocking triangle in the FRONT view (meaning all lines should be dotted)

hope this helps
