how come insects and mammals shwo convergent evolution in terms of reproductive adaptation
where as, structures such as arms and wings show homologous structures

in the reproductive adaptation they show diff origin commen function
in structures they show commen origin and diff function

in either case should both have a commen or diff origin instead of being one in a particular case and the other in another case

i think insects and mammals of structures such as arms and wings are analogous NOT because of a common ancestor, but adaptions to their enviornments.

Different systems can change differently. It is not inconsistent to have some structures analogous and some homologous. For example, the evolution of the respiratory system is independent of the evolution of the excretory system except to the extent that certain functions are dependent. Remember that the only raw material for evolution is mutation. A mutation in the DNA affecting one body area is completely independent of a mutation somewhere else. Again, I am simplifying here, but I hope you get the point. Make sense?
