Inservice prep

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I got the 6th edition of Carol Rivers from Ohio ACEP. All told about 260 dollars or so. It's a two volume set and it's a great study tool. Probably not enough time now to go through the whole thing by inservice time

P VII and RIVERS are excellent resources. P VI is sometimes available through your residency (old copies). There's nothing quite like experience to improve your scores.

This late in the game: Review Cardiology, Trauma and do questions.

I personally found the rivers two volumes to be less helpful than other resources. I highly recommend the PEER series with VII being the most current, but VI also of value. The First Aid for the EM Boards by Blok is a great book too. The National EM Board Review Course is great and entertaining and if you can take the course or borrow the resources they are very helpful.

All of the above are good. If you finished peer vii, you can check out "1000 questions to help you pass the EM boards." It's a little heavy on obscure facts, but the explanations are (with a few exceptions) excellent.

Best of Luck to all you EM residents taking the inservice in the morning. :luck:

It seemed easier this year. Less "stump the question taker" type stuff.
