I just received my inservice score and I was hoping if someone could help me interpret it in terms of relative performance.

for total percent correct, I got 56%. I heard from other residents before the test that if you get above 50%, you're in good shape, but my 56% correlated to a "percentile rank by PGY level" of 31.

So if i'm reading this correctly, I didn't do so well since I'm in the 31th percentile.

Should I be expecting a reprimand from my program director in the near future?

Your program director will likely use the scores to get a sense of which areas you need work on. Based on your performance he will recommend that you do rotations in your weak areas (e.g. cardiology for me) and spend more time reading to increase your fond of knowledge. The inservice exam is also a reminder that you need to be studying a little bit more for boards especially if you are already a second and definitely a third year resident.
