Looks a little more competitive than Georgetown's GEMS program, but I could enter it in 2014 vs 2015 (the year I would actually want to enter Med School). They don't require the MCAT or that you've applied to Med School (though I will be doing both). They also reserve a spot for you in the medical school. Anyone with any kind of experience or familiarity with the program?

I'd also like some more information regarding this program. I have an interview with them at the end of the month for their med school, so if I'm rejected, I think I'll end up applying for this program. However, I do know that they do not have any GPA or MCAT score requirements, unlike Georgetowns' GEMS, which requires under a 3.0 GPA and up to a 22 MCAT score.

Are you sure GEMS has a cap on how good your scores can be? I would double check that... I think the have avgs. It is for high risk applicants, but I don't think there is a definitive cap.

I remember investigating it and seeing that and totally ruling it out afterwards as a result.

There is a cap on the MCAT: They don't accept anyone under a score of 20.

Hello everyone,

I actually did the Temple ACMS program last year and am a current MS1 at Temple now. Let me start by saying I would highly recommend doing the Temple postbac over the GT SMP. The automatic matriculation if you get a 30 mcat is really something only Temple offers. I had several friends do the GSMP and just over half were accepted to a medical school. The Temple postbac has a 92% acceptance rate, with the last 8% being half people who couldn't get a 29 (they do sometimes accept students with below a 30!) and half people who decided not to pursue medicine. In fact, in my class we actually had a student who did the GSMP, didn't get in, and then did the Temple postbac in the end! Feel free to pm me if you have any questions about the program. Best of luck!

I am in the process of applying to the ACMS program and I was wondering if anyone could help me answer this question. I'm an applicant for Temple's Med School this year, so I plan on transferring everything over (GPA, letters, transcripts, etc.). My question concerns the essays. They ask the same questions from their secondary in the postbacc program essays. I realize they're going to be looking at my application for the other materials but are they going to see if I copy + paste the answer for one of the questions?

I've drafted up new answers for almost every question but the "How do you anticipate contributing to the TUSM community?", I mean, there's only so many ways I can talk about what I can bring to the table. Maybe rewording the essay a bit?

what do you think perspectives are for someone with a low gpa? The avg gpa for the ACMS program is pretty, really people who could truly get into medical school? what about people who are in the 3.3 range, like myself?
(haven't taken the mcat yet, but plan to)

congrats on your acceptance!

I spoke to PostBac admissions, and they said it's ok to Copy + Paste from AMCAS if you applied to their med school and was rejected
